Responding to Vanilla Swingers
What Just for Dinner Really Is.
Recently, it was brought to our attention that the “Vanilla Swingers” published a review titled “Do You Know George? A Round-Up of Just for Dinner Reviews.” While we always welcome curiosity and discussion around what we do, we felt it was important to respond to the article and clarify several points for readers genuinely interested in understanding Just for Dinner—and by extension, The Group and The Resort.
First and most importantly, the article in question was not based on firsthand experience. The authors did not attend a dinner, interview anyone associated with our organization, or reach out for comment. Instead, the piece relies almost entirely on anonymous Reddit threads and secondhand reviews to paint a picture of our events. We believe our work—and our members—deserve more than speculation.
Yes, It Is an Interview—And That’s the Point
The article describes Just for Dinner as a “thinly veiled interview” for The Group, which is both accurate and, frankly, the intention. Unlike many lifestyle events where attendees sign up blindly, we use our dinners as a meaningful opportunity to meet prospective members in person. These are small, private evenings designed to assess social compatibility in a setting that’s luxurious, discreet, and entirely free of sexual pressure.
This is not about gatekeeping—it’s about curating a community where people genuinely connect. Ann and George personally attend every dinner in each city and country for this reason. They do not know most guests beforehand. They are meeting them for the first time, just as they are meeting us. That shared first impression matters.
A Unique Opportunity for Discreet Professionals
Just for Dinner is one of the few lifestyle experiences tailored for professionals who care deeply about discretion. It offers a quiet, elegant, and pressure-free way to explore connection, curiosity, and conversation in their own city—with no commitment to travel or play.
For many, it’s their first step into a world that prizes privacy, chemistry, and emotional intelligence just as much as physical attraction.
No Annual Membership Fees for The Group
Another mischaracterization in the article relates to our pricing model. There is no annual membership fee to join The Group. There is only a modest yearly minimum to remain active—nothing close to the inflated figures cited.
In contrast, The Resort does offer an annual membership for those who wish to stay at our private, members-only Caribbean property. That membership provides a host of benefits, including advanced booking access for key dates, reduced room rates, storage of personal items, and access to select member-only events.
On Value, Community, and Celebration
We understand our dinners aren’t for everyone. They are intentionally intimate, elegant, and yes, exclusive. They are also highly rated by those who attend, and many of our closest member relationships began over a meal and a good bottle of wine (or two).
These dinners are also one of three gateway events into The Group. The other two are Jackets Required, curated for those under 40 years of age, and Stiletto Social, which Ann hosts for women only.
We’ve reached out to the blog authors and invited them to connect with us directly for a more accurate conversation. We’d welcome that opportunity.
And since they asked, yes, we do know George. But more importantly, George and Ann would love to know you.
If you’re genuinely curious about Just for Dinner, The Group, or The Resort, we invite you to start with dinner. And for those already in the know—we look forward to seeing you at our next weekend away.
P.S. For those wondering: yes, two-time Grammy winner Shaggy is scheduled to perform at The Resort on New Year’s Eve 2026. Equity Members and Resort Members will have priority access to booking for what promises to be another legendary weekend.
