PRE-EVENT DINNER PARTY

The -g Spot Lounge will be open from 11 a.m. until 5 pm today.

During the day, we will be gathering at the adults-only pool.

We will head off to one of the local’s favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurants for a super-casual, authentic Bahamian dinner on Thursday evening.

The Cocktail Reception will begin at 5:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m.

The -g Spot Lounge will be open from 11 am until 5 pm today.

If you have not explored Bimini before, this is the perfect opportunity. During the day, rent a golf cart, see the sights, and explore all the island’s little shops, bars, and cafes.

Of course, the must-do activity is to find an oceanfront beach stand and enjoy the fresh conch. Usually, nothing more than a few boards, a couple of stools, and a cooler full of cold beer, these establishments serve the most fantastic conch ceviche, accept cash only, and are worth the trip to Bimini to experience.

We will host another reception and dinner, a beach-themed evening with a special musical guest.

After dinner, consider checking out the island’s casino or inviting some new friends to a nearby Tiki bar to whittle away the evening.

Today is the day! Raft-Up!!

Earlier in the week, our captain will circulate the coordinates for the raft-up while considering wind and weather. For those who did not bring a boat, you are welcome to join us aboard The Group’s yacht. The day will include a casual luncheon and a never-ending supply of tropical concoctions.

Dinner on Saturday will be on your own.  This is the perfect opportunity to invite some of your new friends to that “great little spot” you discovered the day before.

After dinner, we will host another legendary on-premise evening until the wee hours.  This evening’s fashion will be jackets for the gentlemen sans tie and tropical or cocktail dresses for the ladies.

Please join us Sunday morning for a Farewell Brunch before we all return to the default world.

This will be an excellent opportunity to say your goodbyes and exchange numbers.

George's Note

As many know, I am a big fan of setting expectations.  For those members who have participated in prior destination weekends, they are well aware our hotel selections typically lean toward 5-star brands such as Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, and St. Regis.  For this weekend, accommodations at that level are not an option. Bimini is a small, almost rural island with roughly 1,200 residents.

We selected Bimini due to its proximity to South Florida and the opportunity for our members with boats, yachts, and prop airplanes to have someplace nearby to travel safely.

Liz and I have stayed at the resort and quickly ranked it a full-service, 4-star property with a good marina and a small casino.  The good news is that this allowed us to reduce the daily cost of our king room packages drastically.  For our members who prefer the finer things in life, we can highly recommend the Lagoon and Garden Suites (we already sold out once and had to add more).
