My Friends,
Who’s ready for 2023 to be over? I am!
Let’s celebrate the end of this year together!!
We have compiled a collection of a few Group favorites and worked to keep the expense low and the value high.
On Saturday, December 30th we will gather in Palm Beach, Florida for the first of two parties. You may attend either night as your schedule permits.
The first party will be a black tie affair, with dinner and dancing, hosted aboard the 120-foot classic wooden motor yacht, Mariner III. Our special musical guest for the evening will be Edwin Bonilla. Edwin is a distinguished Latin percussionist, multiple-time Grammy nominee, and a 31-year member of Miami Sound Machine.
Sunday afternoon we will gather in nearby Wellington at the International Polo Club for a late afternoon brunch and the Continental Cup™. At the 16-goal level, the Continental Cup™ is one of three premier tournaments that make up the brand-new Wellington Polo Tour (WPT)
That night, the second party will be a more intimate affair, as we borrow from the success of our Jackets Required format and host a lightly catered cocktail party on New Year’s, followed by a late-night after-party. The venue for this evening’s soiree will be The Group’s private yacht.
To provide the greatest flexibility for our members, you are welcome to attend one or both nights, reserving your accommodations through us or on your own.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
Warmest Regards,
George
Director, The Group

Officially, the check-in time is 4 p.m. at our full-service, 5-star hotel.
Allowing enough time for everyone to arrive, settle in, unpack, rest a little, and be ready to join other members of The Group later that evening for dinner and dancing aboard the Mariner III. Boarding time will be 7 pm.
The dinner will feature a chef-tailored experience with traditional New Year’s favorites.
Our special musical guest will be Edwin Bonilla and his band.
The fashion for the evening will be black tie.
The Continental Cup™, formerly the Fourteen Goal, is a national USPA tournament. Last played in South Carolina in 2017 at New Bridge Polo & Country Club in Aiken, South Carolina, the tournament moved to Wellington in 2022.
We recommend departing Palm Beach by 1 p.m. in order to arrive for brunch (and the polo match) at 2 p.m.
Following polo, you are invited to join us aboard The Group’s yacht as we ring in the New Year!
Fashion for the evening will be jackets for the gentlemen and cocktail dresses for the ladies.
Boarding time will be 9 pm.
Each team will play each other, with the top two teams advancing to the final of the Continental Cup. Following bracket play, if three or more teams have the same win/loss record and who beat who cannot break the tie, then a shootout will determine the finalists.
Continuing the USPA’s initiative to bring competitive polo at the 16-goal level to clubs across South Florida, the Continental Cup will join the ranks in the brand new Florida Circuit 16-Goal Super-Series. The Continental Cup will serve as the final qualifying leg of four prestigious national tournaments (Joe Barry Memorial, Ylvisaker Cup, Iglehart Cup), with each winning team moving on to the final event.
Should a team win more than one qualifier, that team will automatically advance to the Florida Circuit 16-Goal Super-Series Championship Final. Claiming both the Joe Barry Memorial and Ylvisaker Cup, Iconica, has become the first team to secure a spot in the Championship on April 9, 2023 at the National Polo Center – Wellington (NPC).
